Happy New Year and Welcome to 2020. We hope your holiday included joyful moments and a few days of rest, as we look toward the 2020 filing seasons and the challenges it may present. As with what has become a normal occurrence, Congress passed late legislation in the form of an extender bill, “Taxpayer Certainty and Disaster Tax Relief Act of 2019 and the SECURE Act. Both were signed into law by the President on December 20, averting a government shutdown.
